The taxi driver, already a few streets away, was surprised to hear his phone ring. Glancing at the caller ID, he saw it was Jody’s dad. Pulling over to the side of the road, he answered the call.
“Hello?” the driver said.
“Hi, it’s me,” Jody’s dad replied warmly. “I just wanted to say thank you for today, and I was wondering if you’d like to come back for a cup of tea? It’s the least we can do to show our appreciation.”
The driver smiled, touched by the gesture. “That’s very kind of you,” he said. “I’d love to. Give me a few minutes to turn around, and I’ll be right there.”
