BREAKING NEWS: Filipino American found murdered in Elk Grove

Elk Grove police have identified Jeff Trainor, a 29-year-old Sacramento resident, as a person of interest in connection with the Feb. 9 shooting death of Jose Nathaniel Estrada, 21, a student at Consumes River College, Dancer and Creative.

Estrada was found dead outside of his home in Elk Grove with multiple bullets wounds, ligature marks, and blunt force trauma to the head and torso. Police believe โ€œ…he (Trainor) was in involved in mulitple cases throughout the country specifically in California.โ€

Jeff, 29, was last seen at the Best Western Hotel in Florin, Sac., police said, but had likely already fled the state.

“Mr. Trainor should be considered armed and dangerous, andโ€ฆextreme caution should be used if you come in contact with this individual,” said Elk Grove Police Chief Otoniel Reyes. “If located, we ask that you contact the Elk Grove Police Department.”

Although police said he was not currently a suspect in Estradaโ€™s slaying, Jeff, who resides in West Sacramento, CA., is wanted on warrants in Massachusetts and Connecticut and various parts of California in connection with a stolen car, handful of armed robberies, and 1st degree murder.

Prior to the shooting, Estrada had been involved in a possible drug ring in Sacramento, police said, and they were investigating the possibility that Jeff may have been someone Estrada was in contact with.
