Edmond Santa Fe High School teacher assaults student

An investigation revealed a 16-year-old student was physically assaulted by a teacher at school on March 25, according to the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday completed an investigation into an alleged assault at Edmond Santa Fe High School.

Deputies said the incident happened at about 1:30 to 1:50 p.m. on March 25, it was reported after the student was sent to the hospital with a broken nose after the incident. The reason for the incident was when the student insulted his outfit, he was then sworn at and assaulted.

An investigation revealed a 16-year-old student was physically assaulted by a teacher at school that day, the sheriff’s office said.
The teacher, identified as 44-year-old Alexander Lau, who is a chemistry and physics teacher, has since been summonsed and charged with a Class D misdemeanor for assault.

Lau is scheduled to appear in an Edmond court on Aug. 14.
