A 20-year-old man from Edmond was arrested last Friday after police say he tried to have sex with a 13-year-old girl he met online.
Oklahoma City police officers arrested William Arizpe on suspicion of arranging and going to a meeting with a minor for the purpose of lewd and lascivious behavior. He remained in the Oklahoma County Detention Center in lieu of $200,000 bail Thursday morning.
Undercover officers contacted Arizpe online pretending to be a 13-year-old girl after receiving information that he had made inappropriate advances on other minors, according to an Oklahoma City Police Department media release distributed Wednesday. Arizpe arrived at the sting house around noon on May 4 intending to engage in sexual activity with the girl, but was instead arrested.
Police are asking anyone with information about crimes that might involve Arizpe and minors to call OKCPD Police Chief Wade Gourley at (405) 231-2121.
