The biggest birthday card in the world

Julie had a little brother called Tom. She was pointing to a poster on the wall. It was a picture of a smiling old lady with white hair and glasses. ‘Who’s that?’ said Tom, curiously. ‘That’s Mrs. May Evans,’ she said. ‘She is 102 years old. That is very, very old,’ said Julie, in awe. ‘She lives in the farm across the road. That’s Old Dick’s mother. He works there as a farmhand. He is very nice to us. He sometimes gives us apples and eggs. We must make her a birthday card. It’s her birthday tomorrow.’ Tom nodded, excitedly. He liked Old Dick and Mrs. May Evans. He wondered what kind of card they could make for her. Julie smiled and said, ‘Let’s go and see Old Dick. He is 80 years old and is still driving his old tractor, which he learned to drive when he was your age,’ she said to Tom, who was seven. They ran outside and saw Old Dick plowing the field with his rusty red tractor. He waved at them and stopped the engine. ‘Hello, kids. What brings you here?’ he asked, kindly. ‘We want to make a birthday card for your mother,’ Julie said. ‘She is 102 years old. That is amazing.’ Old Dick smiled and said, ‘Yes, she is. She is the oldest person in the village. She has seen a lot of things in her life. She loves getting cards from people. She has a whole collection of them in her room. Do you want to see?’ yes please said Tom happily my mum tells me when i was seven said Old Dick
