Santa’s Surprise Visitor

It was a cold and snowy night on Christmas Eve, and Santa was busy delivering presents to the children of the world. He had a special passenger with him: a friendly policeman who had met him earlier that evening. Santa had told him about his wife, Mrs. Claus, who was feeling lonely and depressed at the workshop. The policeman had offered to visit her later on, and Santa had gratefully accepted. He hoped that the policeman’s visit would cheer up his wife and make her feel better. “Ho ho ho!” Santa laughed as he landed his sleigh on a rooftop. He grabbed a sack of presents and jumped down the chimney. He quickly placed the gifts under the tree and ate the cookies and milk that the children had left for him. He then climbed back up the chimney and returned to his sleigh.

“You’re amazing, Santa,” the policeman said, admiring Santa’s speed and skill. “How do you do it?”

“It’s all thanks to the magic of Christmas, my friend,” Santa said, smiling. “And the help of my elves, of course. They work very hard to make the toys and wrap them up. They’re the best team in the world.”

“I’m sure they are,” the policeman said, nodding. “But what about your wife? How is she doing?”

Santa’s smile faded a bit. He sighed and looked at the sky. “She’s not doing very well, I’m afraid. She’s been feeling sick and sad for a while now. She misses me when I’m away, and she doesn’t have anyone to talk to. She used to love Christmas, but now she hates it. She says it’s the loneliest time of the year for her.”
