“Don’t worry, Linda. I’ll get you out of here. Just wait a minute,” Jeffrey said. He looked for something to break the window. He found a big stone and threw it at the window. The glass shattered and made a loud noise. Jeffrey reached inside and helped Linda climb out. They ran away from the house as fast as they could.
The old man and his wife heard the noise and came out of the house. They saw Jeffrey and Linda running away. They were furious. They shouted, “Stop! Come back here! You little rascals!”
But Jeffrey and Linda did not stop. They ran all the way to Linda’s house and told her parents what had happened. Linda’s parents were shocked and angry. They called the police and reported the old man. The police came and arrested the old man and his wife. They thanked Jeffrey for saving Linda.
