great uncle Charles

Tom and Jane were curious about their great uncle Charles, who had lived in Africa for most of his life. They had only seen him in a few old photos that their grandma had shown them. He looked like a tall and thin man with a long beard and a safari hat. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. where it was very hot.

They wondered what kind of adventures he had in Africa. Did he see lions and elephants and giraffes? Did he explore jungles and deserts and mountains? Did he meet different people and cultures and languages?

They were eager to ask him all these questions when he arrived at their house for Christmas it was snowing. They hoped he would tell them some amazing stories and maybe even bring them some souvenirs from Africa. They imagined that he would be a fun and friendly uncle who would play games with them and teach them new things. They were not prepared for the surprise that awaited them when they opened the door and saw their great uncle Charles for the first time. He was not the man they had expected. He was half shaven now he is 88 years old didn’t wear a hat.

He wore a thick coat and a scarf with gloves and carried a large suitcase. He looked tired and cold and grumpy. He did not smile or greet them. He just muttered something under his breath and walked past them into the house. He did not seem interested in talking to them or playing with them. He just wanted to rest in his room and watch TV.

Tom and Jane were disappointed and confused. They wondered why their great uncle Charles was so different from the photos and their imagination. They wondered if he had changed because of his age or his experiences in Africa. They wondered if he had any secrets or stories that he did not want to share. They wondered if they could ever get to know him and make him happy.

They decided to try to find out more about their great uncle Charles and his life in Africa. They thought that maybe if they learned more about him, they could understand him better and make him feel more welcome. They also hoped that he would open up to them and tell them some of his amazing stories.

They sneaked into his room when he was not there and looked at his suitcase. They found some clues that revealed more about their great uncle Charles and his life in Africa.
