Alfie, Mum and Annie Rose had been shopping. Alfie ran all the way home, so he got there first. When he got to their terraced house, he slammed the door. “I won!” said Alfie, leaving Mum and Annie Rose outside. Mum said, “We’ll put the key through the letter box,” but Alfie could not reach it. He was too small.
Annie Rose was tired and began to cry. Alfie started to cry too. He didn’t like to be on the wrong side of the door.
Just then, Mrs. McNally came rushing up to see what all the noise was all about.
She said thats my Maureen I’m sure she will be able to help
Maureen was a big girl she suggested i might be able to climb up the drain pipe first if you like Mrs. McNally didn’t like that idea at all oh no Maureen you might hurt yourself
