‘I’m still in shock’: Vernon woman wins lottery jackpot Sunday evening

A Vernon woman has won the triple-digit jackpot thanks to purchasing a lucky scratch-off ticket.

According to The Connecticut lottory Corporation, Erin Culvey won a $360,000 prize on Sunday evening.

Officials said Culvey, was returning her daughter to Central Connecticut State University when she attends as a sophomore when she stopped at the local 7-Eleven to use the ATM and pick up a few items, including a Black Titanium scratch-off.

She returned home to then scratch her winning ticket. ‘I couldn’t believe it,” Culvey said. “I haven’t even told my daughter yet.”

After taxes Culvey is expected to bring home $214,600.46 of the prize money.

Lottery officials said the Black Titanium scratch-off game just launched last month and is available for $30.
