Cumberland Academy High School poised to get a football team by the 2023-2024 school season

After many years of rejecting the popular sport in their schools, Cumberland Academy will finally get a football team of their own. “I have always thought that football is a dangerous sport, and I will always believe so. However, it is no more dangerous than another sport that we offer, lacrosse, which involves striking persons with sticks.” Ms. Cotton noted. A football field will be constructed across from the baseball field and track, filling in the empty space that is currently there. Coach Raymond has already volunteered to coach the football team for next year.
