Real life ghostface?

In the early morning of the February 1st a brutal murder was committed in Goodyear, Arizona. A young woman who goes by the name Kathy Simmons was found hanging from her roof by her mother. Her unsteadiness were viciously removed. Police say she was stabbed 7 times before being gutted. The mother reported seeing a ghostface mask inside her house on top of broken glass. A chair was also discovered inside the home. It is believed that it was thrown at her through the window. A full bag of microwave popcorn in the microwave as well. Is this the start of a new murder spree, or is it one and done?
