There are many rumors floating about that Blackpink might disband in 2022. Blackpink is one of the most legendary K-pop groups that have ever existed. Ever since the girls debuted in the year 2016 with Boombayah and Whistle, there has been no coming down for them. As soon as you blink an eye, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa will start breaking records in all four directions. Blackpink’s songs have one of the catchiest beats in K-pop. Even though they usually release songs once in a blue moon, their songs are always a bop!
Talking about long hiatuses, fans have been very concerned for the group. More and more girl groups have debuted in the past two years during Blackpink’s hiatus, which makes fans worry that their popularity might slow down and will eventually lead them to disband. Plus, with the new YG Entertainment girl group in the making, fans are worried sick that YG Entertainment will try the same stunt on them as they had done with 2NE1, aka disbandment.Their disbandment is as a hot issue as their comeback. That is why Rolling Stone had asked three of the Blackpink members, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé, about the ‘Blackpink disband’ topic, while Jisoo was unfortunately not asked this question. 1. Jennie
What Jennie, as well as the others, replied on the ‘Blackpink disband’ question will put fans’ fears to rest. She said that even though it sounds corny, there is no end for Blackpink in her heart. Jennie said that even when she becomes a seventy years old woman, she would still identify herself as a Blackpink member. The thing is really engraved in her and would be quite off for her if she introduced herself any other way. In addition to that, she thought of Blackpink not just as an ordinary group but as a family in itself. Family members do get busy and sometimes see each other after many years. They go through many ups and downs and are family till the end. As Jennie said, the same goes for Blackpink too!
2. Rosé
Next up, here is what the group’s main vocalist and lead dancer had to say about whether Blackpink will disband. Rosé confidently said that Blackpink would last forever. She grew up and spent years of her life with the members, so they are her family too. Initially saying it was quite dumb of her to even think about it, she gave an explanation of what she said. Rosé said that you always fear losing things that you love with all your heart, and for her, Blackpink is one of those things. Maybe that is why she sometimes is scared of the group’s future.
3. Lisa
Lastly, this is how the group’s maknae and the dancing machine had answered the question. Lisa pointed out that she tries not to think of this subject as it is too sad for her. Being away from the members is something she does not want to think of. Yeah, they do jokingly talk about it, saying that the members will be living in different places, will be married, etc. but being away from them scares her. Lisa added she could not see Blackpink disbanding anytime soon. According to her, it has to go on for at least ten more years before talking about disbanding. She even joked about whether she will be able to dance then since she would be forty-something!
If what Blackpink members said is true, then Blinks do not have to worry about losing this team of four lovely girls. We really cannot imagine how the world will be if the Blackpink girls will ever disband. As Lisa suggested, if the members do get busy with their solo careers, they can at least do a reunion concert like the Spice Girls. We can hope that we will not have to think about whether Blackpink will disband anytime soon as an album and tour have been hinted at!
