SCHOOLS IN NEW YORK CITY NOW REQUIRING STUDENTS TO WEAR THREE LAYERS OF MASKS

On January 12, 2022 at 2: 47 P.M., New York City mayor Eric Adams, issued an emergency order to all New York City Kindergarten to Grade 12 students to wear three layers of protective masks “due to an extreme uprising of COVID-19 cases in schools around the city”.
This decision has been met by much protest and controversy, particularly from parents of NYC students. Angela Ra, mother of a six grade student and New Explorations Into Science Technology and Math, states that “this decision comes with potential risks. My son has asthma, and this will just make it even harder for him to breathe properly.”
