The historic TV news host and journalist on Rai 1 died at the age of 50 on her birthday, January 22, 2011, after a short illness.
Mambelli began her career in print by collaborating with various newspapers, including Paese Sera and Corriere della Sera, before moving on to TV.
She joined Rai in the early 90s, for Tg1 she had worked for a long time as a news correspondent following among the many cases the kidnapping of Giuliana Sgrena, the flood of Messina, the earthquake of San Giuliano di Puglia and the story linked to the violence of the Pistoia kindergarten.
