2 people were shot around 2:30 early Sunday morning in the intersection of west pine street and south 7th Ave next to Davis high school officers were dispatched to the area for multiple reports for multiple shots fired officers responded to the area and found a black gmc pickup truck in the middle of the intersection smoking officers approached the vehicle and discoverd the truck had be riddled with bullet holes and multiple shell casings for different type of guns including Ak-47 rounds and Ar-15 rounds and other rounds they found 2 Hispanic males inside the vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds they then performed aid till Paramedics arrived both males were transported to an area hospital where Alejandro Gonzalez Luna Jr 18 of Yakima later died from his apparent wounds and 19 year old Rodger Cordova was life flighted to harborview medical center in Seattle Wa where he is in critical condition
Officers determined this was an ambushed attack while the 2 males were driving to an unknown location
Capt. jay Seely says the incident is not gang related nun of the men have gang ties or a criminal history the shooters are still at large and ypd are working along side with us marshals and yakima county sheriffs office to capture the people who did this
