Vaccination Backlash Leads to Fortnite Shutdown

Popular video game Fortnite have been forced to close down as of 2022. This comes after news of the creator, Darren Sugg getting into a heated Twitter feud with Australian prime minister Scott Morrison.

Sugg was spotted at the recent New York ‘Save Australia’ protest, holding a placard saying ‘SCOMO KILLS. HE’S GIVEN UP ON YOU’. Following scrutiny from fans, he took to Twitter where he said:

“I stood in New York today protesting for the rights and freedoms of the Australian people. Their prime minister has let them down, he deserted them in a time of struggle. Australia deserves better. #ScomoKills #EndLockdwen #SaveAustralia #GdayMate @ScottMorrisonPM”

Mr Morrison responded to this in a press conference held at Parliament House on Saturday October 9. He said “Everything I do is in the best interests of Australia, I care for every single one of you and being your leader, especially during this unprecedented time has been an honour”. He continues, specifically calling out Sugg, “There’s been a lot of fake news going round from some big names such as Darren Sugg, claiming I ‘deserted’ Australia. I have done nothing of such kind – everything I did was for the Australian people. I, like my fellow leaders, have worked tirelessly these past 18 months to keep you all safe. Anyone saying otherwise couldn’t be further from the truth”.

After the press conference, Sugg, yet again, took he’s furies to Twitter. The posts were deleted by Twitter and his account muted for three days.

Epic Games eventually fired Sugg. The company offered to continue Fortnite but he said “You lose me, you lose Fortnite.”
