Jordan Terrell Carter, has died aged 25.
The official cause of death has not been confirmed by the medical examiner.
Jordan Terrell Carter, known professionally as Playboi Carti, is an American rapper and singer-songwriter. He is recognized for his experimental musical style, gothic fashion, and mysterious public persona.
American singer-songwriter was found dead in his apartment on , 4th of October 2021.
In 2016, Playboi Carti fully invested himself in music. He was already friends with Ski Mask The Slump God as well, as the pair had collaborated on tracks in the past. By this point, the singer’s legal history began to mount after he accumulated charges from a pair of incidents for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, and then witness tampering, false imprisonment and aggravated battery of a pregnant woman.
There’s no bigger role model for Playboi Carti than A$AP Rocky, the Harlem-born rapper who earned $14.5 million last year (and graced the cover of 2016’s 30 Under 30 issue). “He laid out the platform, and I just went with it,” says Carti, who joined Rocky’s A$AP Mob collective and landed a six-figure record deal with Interscope Records in late 2016. His warbling flow and relentless trap beats allowed his single “Magnolia” to clock 150 million Spotify spins, and his self-titled debut LP reached No. 12 on Billboard’s album charts.
Carter was facing more charges that included domestic violence stemming from a 2016 relationship. After being found of violating his bond in December, he was released on house arrest. A judge moved him off house arrest in March so he could tour in order to make a living. He was still awaiting trial and facing 15 felony charges he was accused of later in 2018.
