Stranger Things 5 Cancelled, says Netflix Showrunner’s The Duffer Brothers

On Tuesday, September 28th, at 12:35pm, the Stranger Things official twitter account confirmed that the hit fantasy-sci-fi drama would not be coming back for it’s fifth and final season. While the show had been a home run through all of the previous seasons, the time it took to finish the upcoming season ran through their budget and for budget and COVID reasons, the fifth season of the teen show would not be making it’s way to the big screen.

“Maybe we’ll see each other again in the Upside Down”, said the Duffer Brother’s in their official tweet as they said their goodbye to the show. Stranger Things had run since 2016 and been nothing but a success since. Seeing this beloved show say it’s goodbye made many fans emotional in the comments. “not me crying 😭😭” said one twitter account in reply to the abrupt cancellation.

The show’s actor, Noah Schnapp, had recently confirmed that they had finished filming the fourth season and another teaser was on it’s way. So while we are all disheartened to the cancellation of the fifth season, we all have season 4 to look out for in the upcoming 2022.
