YouTube Star PewDiePie is quitting YouTube

Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, –professionally know as 𝗣𝗲𝘄𝗗𝗶𝗲𝗣𝗶𝗲– is an internet personality and comedian on the Google-operated social media platform, 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗧𝘂𝗯𝗲.

The 31 year old YouTuber has used the platform for over 10 years and has managed to gain over 100 million subscribers. In late 2018, the YouTuber posted the viral music video titled “TSERIES DISS TRACK” (later renamed “𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗮”) as a “diss-track” against T-Series, a major Indian music label, while they fought for the title of the most-subscribed YouTube channel.

Last year, the famous YouTuber posted a video where he stated that many things in his life had been “piling up” and “it has become too much” leading to his one month break from the social media platform.

From that point, he continued to post videos normally for the past year. He had posted videos ranging from his series “LWAIY” to playing the famous Microsoft game, Minecraft.

As of yesterday, he had posted a video leaving many fans heartbroken. The video was titled “Goodbye.”, a 7:12 second video posted August 23, 2021, stating the struggles he had gone through on the platform along with a peak into his personal life.

The 31 year old talks about dealing with many unhappy fans, un-nessessary backlash, and most importantly, his families health. Recently, his mother has been diagnosed with leukemia, a type of blood cancer.

As of this point, her life expectancy is unknown but the YouTuber has decided to quit social media and focus on spending time with the rest of his family and caring for his ill mother.

The video has caused a lot of backlash from upset fans with a few saying “𝘐’𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘐 𝘸𝘢𝘴 17, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘰𝘴” and “𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘶𝘱𝘪𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵” roared one commenter.

As of today, the video has been taken down likely from the hate it received but no news has been received from the YouTuber at this point.
