Man stabbed to death in Bronx Housing Authority

Bleedin from a vicious stabbing in Bronx Housing Authority and searching desperately for help, a 21-year-old man, Carlos Valle, was stabbed to death in Bronx, Ny.

The man left a bloody trail through a stairwell, hallway and elevatir in the building, before banging on the 10th floor apartment door at NYCHA’s housing authority shortly after 11pm on Saturday, August 28.

One resident said she heard the man pleas for help just before the police arrived and knocked on the door of the 10th floor apartment in the buidling 2663 Heath Avenue, Kingsbridge heights.

” I really didnt think anything of it because we get junkies in here all the time” one reasident said.

“When the officer opened my door, she [the victim] was lying right next to my door. He was conscious but he kept dozing off, and they kept waking him up.”

The man had been stabbed repeatedly, said police. EMTs took the man to Harlem Hospital, where he died. Police withheld his name pending notification of family members.

Residents said the unidentified man did not live in the complex, but was last seen with a tenant who was brought in for questioning.

Homeless people often sleep on the 16th-floor stairwell of the building where the man was stabbed, said residents.

We first started seeing him Monday,” said the resident who heard the mna’s pleas. “Then we saw him yesterday, and today he’s dead. When homicide detectives came, I said, ‘Damn, not even 48 hours.’ ”

“To walk out of my apartments at 11pm and see that,” the woman said. ”Thankfully the kids didn’t have to go out. My head is still spinning.”

No arrests have been made. Cops were scouring the area for video footage that could help them identify a suspect.

Yellow crime scene tape was stretched across both elevators where splotches of blood were visible along the silver walls.

“Nothing like that goes on in the building,” he said. ”Usually we get characters in the building because they’re trying to find a place to get some rest for a little while.

“But as far as violent activities, that’s very unlikely to happen in this building,” Green said. “That’s ridiculous. It makes no sense.”
