A eleven-year-old girl has been found dead on a beach in Texas just over a day after he went missing while vacationing with his family, officials have said.

“This is approximately 1.5 miles east of where she was last seen more than 24 hours ago. Our condolences go to the family.”
The girl was last seen by her family near the beach behind Shores of Island National Seashore at around 11.30 am on Monday, officials said.
City Spokeswoman Debbie Ward told WVTM that Areyna has been found on the sand in the 20301 Park Rd 22 at around 4pm on Tuesday.
She continued: “Our hearts are broken for this family. We know they are grieving and our prayers are with them.”
Police have not yet revealed a cause of death, but earlier said that “the evidence leads us to believe she went missing in the water”.
More than 80 law enforcement officers and first responders participated in the search for the girl. Police had also considered that the girl may had been abducted during their search.
“This was nobody’s fault. This was a tragic accident,” Chief Talamantez said on Tuesday. “Areyna was a child. There were hundreds of people around her, and it can happen that quickly.”
