Commissioner of Police Tyrone Griffith, spoke to members of the Barbados today team saying new ideas we’re rolling out on how best we can tackle crime & sexual harassment, Griffith said he received a request of his presence from his Boss this morning at approximately 9:21 Am from His Excellency The Acting Governor-General of Barbados, Sir Philip Marlowe Greaves, K.A., Q.C., he stated that he received some reports of young ladies who were being targeted by males when walking on the streets or walking through a shortcut to home, so what we have decided to do is come up with a plan, we contacted Grandson of the Assistant Governor-General, Youth Minister & Parliament Representative Hon. Akoybi J. Greaves, M.P., he is also the Assistant of Secretary Defense, and the Head Chairman of The New Hope Foundation Charity, Griffith continued to say “Greaves has put together a team of police officers from the C.I.D. Department, he will be appointed the leader of the investigations, at his assistance will be Staff Officer, Francisca Deane; as he & his team roam the streets over time, to make sure everyone is safe.

Griffth went on to reassure the public that the officers of the Royal Barbados Police Force are on the job, stressing, β€œWe have never taken off our gloves in the fight of crime, and we will never take off our gloves in the fight of crime, We ensure that we give the level of response and the level of commitment to solving all matters, especially the ones that will make society uncomfortable or create anxiety, he said, also again urging the public to come forward with information on any crimes.
