Dixie D’Amelio, sister of Charli, is said to be the one who was in the car with the 16-year-old TikTok star. “Charli was just about to get her license,” Dixie says in CNN interview. “She was driving, but wanted to text our mom saying we were almost home. She was usually very overprotective of her phone, and didn’t want me to text our mom over her phone,” explains the 19-year-old, who had left her phone at home that day. “It’s such a burden knowing that my forgetfulness caused my own sister to die.”
“It’s just hard knowing our baby’s gone already,” says Heidi D’Amelio, mother of the sisters.
“Our daughter was the light of our life,” says Marc D’Amelio, father.
