GRETA MARUSAK TALKING ABOUT HER NEW SINGLE

“I always had a love for music,” Greta Marusak (14) states. “I was watching my favorite singer, Melanie Martinez on YouTube, and I saw that she did a cover of Thrift Shop by Macklemore. I had an idea about what I could do to change the song to my own liking.” Marusak spent her time writing her own version of the song, by keeping the original chorus, and changing the verses. By doing that, she changed the entire songs meaning. “I worked on it for a few days, of course I had to find a rythm, so I went on the google play store, and got the app called Voloco. It was meant for rapping, but I was determined to face a challenge. I found a track on the app called Liar, and it was by this artist named Epilepsy.” Marusak said. “I used the track and started writing. By the time it was done, I posted a little sneak peek of it on my Snapchat story, and that’s when I decided to post it on YouTube.” By the next morning, her song got 298 million views, and 3 million likes. Marusak says she is currently working on another song, which will play as a sequel to Thrift Shop.
