Tik Tok star Charli D’Amelio Dead after NJ Turnpike Car Crash

Charli D’Amelio was killed and four people were injured when a car veered off the New Jersey Turnpike and crashed into a guardrail, according to authorities.

The crash occurred at about 10:25 p.m. Friday in the southbound car lanes just south of Interchange 12 in Carteret, when a Lamborghini passenger car hit an unknown vehicle, then went off the left side of the highway and hit a guardrail, said John Smith, a spokesman.

The driver, Dixie D’Amelio suffered minor injuries, but one of the four passengers inside the car was killed, Smith said. She was identified as Charli D’Amelio.

Smith said Charli was sitting in the middle of the rear passenger seat and had not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Another rear-seat passenger, Chase Hudson, suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, Smith said. He also had not been wearing a seatbelt, the spokesman said.

The other two passengers in the car suffered minor to moderate injuries, Smith said.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, but no summonses have been issued yet, Smith said. Car lanes on the New Jersey Turnpike were closed for about four hours following the crash.
