On 3-1-21, Eddie Collins of Chadds Ford won the Fortnite Championship! He is bringing
home the grand prize of $100,000!
To go more in-depth, Eddie had a come-up from a poor neighborhood. He lived in an apartment home with his mother. He ¨made it out of the mud¨ as Eddie puts it.
Eddie started playing Fortnite years ago, 2017 to be exact. He ¨grinded¨ and made his way to the top! He competed in tournaments in the past, but this one was the most stressful yet. He had to go up against the top-tier competition. The tournament was a 10 round system. Eddie ¨choked¨ in the first 2 rounds as he puts it. He was put at the bottom of the leaderboard. He placed 68th in the first match and 87th in the second. In the third round though, he came back! He got a #1 Victory Royale with 13 kills! He then performed well in the next 7 rounds. He always placed top 10 in those last 7.
He had won the Tournament! This was the comeback story of the year! At the bottom of the leaderboard, everyone was doubting him. Yet in the hardest of times, he came back and won! He ¨proved all the haters wrong¨ as he puts it. This money helped his family so much! His family was in awe at how Eddie performed!
In the end, Eddie Collin is an inspirational story. He made it from the bottom to the top. He is truly an inspiration to many. He is an example to the youth and will always be remembered.
