WYTHE COUNTY TEEN LEAD POLICE ON HIGH SPEED CHASE

Wythe County Sheriffs Department attempted to initiate an traffic stop with a car that had been reported for wreck less driving. The Jeep Cherokee was going down US 52 and then turned on to US 69 and led police on a chase through Austinsville with speeds exceeding 125 mph. The suspect inevitably made an escape from the officers and has yet to be found. He is believed to be a wythe county resident of the name Luke Edwards and is driving a Dark Blue Jeep Cherokee. If seen please contact local authorities immediately. Officer Cheyenne Ayers was quoted as follows, “They all said the boy was good, but they were wrong. That damn boy can drive!”
