2 Houston teens host nationwide online fundraiser to give Syrian children Christmas gifts

As of today December 10th, 2020 two local teens (Vani Patel and Dhruti Pathak) have raised more than 50,000 dollars to donate to the Me to We foundation in order to give 25,500 Syrian children Christmas gifts. These girls are only in 7th grade, but already show a deep dedication to serving the worldwide community and making a change in the culture of our society. They used multiple online platforms in order to accumulate the needed amount of money for this generous project. Some of the platforms that they used are: GoFundMe, Patreon and Kickstarter. They also have hosted various food drives throughout Houston in order to help the thousands of homeless people living in Houston area alone. These girls have a deep understanding of diversity and inclusion and are willing to do whatever it takes to make our world a more and equal place. They have participated in many fundraising events in the past and have pledged to do anything that they can in order to help the community in the future.
“This project started as just a vague idea,” Vani admitted in a recent interview, “We had never thought that it would grow to be this big.”
When questioned about whether the girls would keep hosting crowdfunding fundraisers in the future, both girls replied that they would do anything in order to help those in need.
Dhruti has told Chanel 46 that the girls are planning to host future fundraisers centered on helping other African and Middle Eastern countries in the near future.
These young girls are such an inspiration to society as a whole, and we here at Channel 46 News are so proud of them and their accomplishments.
