A sad goodbye to our friend, American Pharoah

On the morning of October 9th at around 8am American Pharaoh was on the lunge line. “He tripped over a branch that had recently fallen and broke his leg” (Ahmed Zayat). It was said that we would make a full recovery, but that night, American Pharaoh passed away. Zayat said he looked ill but the time the vets got out there he was already gone. They say he was poisoned, having the same fate as Phar Lap back in April 5th, 1932. His mounted hide will be going to the Museum of Victoria in Melbourne. His skeleton will be going to the National Museum of New Zealand. This is a very sad goodbye and will be hard for others. Goodbye, our champion racehorse, American Pharaoh.
