Kid’s Game “Animal Jam” Reportedly Shutting Down

On Tuesday, September 8th, 2020, creator of children’s game Animal Jam, WildWorks, shared a tweet on social platform Twitter that was later deleted only 10 minutes later. The now deleted tweet read: “After 10 years of Jamming, we have decided to focus on our new game which is in the process of development, Fer.al. Animal Jam: Classic and Animal Jam will not be permanently deleted, but data may be lost and you may no longer be able to search and find it in your app store. You can talk to your service provider if this occurs. While the game won’t be erased from your device, we will eventually have to shut it down. The game will be permanently closed by October 30th, at latest. Thanks for jamming, jam on!” After Animal Jam creator and web sensation, WisteriaMoon, left a comment reading “This has got to be a joke, right?” WildWorks deleted the tweet instantly. While we are unsure if the creators truly intend on shutting down the game permanently or if it was a joke, they have left many fans feeling confused and panicked. WisteriaMoon has chosen not to speak on the situation yet, leading us to believe it was all a hoax or possible publicity stunt. However, Animal Jam’s official Twitter account has removed several posts on the topic of it’s creation, which has caused more panic amongst Animal Jam’s fanbase, “Jammers.” A last tweet was posted before being deleted again, which read “We are sorry for the confusion Jammers. While we have come to the conclusion of moving on and focusing on Fer.al, the game will still be available for a short time longer. Jam on!” We have not received any further news on this situation, and are still unsure if it was a prank or not.
