will the sun really explode in 1000 years time???

Due to research on the Sun, experts have discovered that in around 1000 years time, the sun will explode close anough to the earth that all human life will die out! Plants will aswell die because of the extreme temperature! All water recourses will dry up and humans will have nothing to feed or drink on causing humans death…what can be done?
