Kauri Flats School, Takanini, is in disgrace today after a student from Base 5, whose identity will remain anonymous, reportedly left a fake note for teachers and ran away from school, returning shortly after school concluded.
When returning, police say, he was desperate not to be found by anybody, so he hid behind a rubbish bin of all places.
The male student currently has a younger sister attending the school named Te Rangi. Their last names will remain secret to protect the children’s identities.
